I am the property manager for the wonderful Sandcastle Beach House and I invite all of our current and former guests to please leave a comment here on our new blog regarding your stay with us. We have had so many very happy, repeat guests that I wanted to be able to share their feelings about the Sandcastle on our website. Have a wonderful day. Thank you in advance for your comments. – Ashley

I have the pleasure of meeting my old college friends once a year at the Sandcastle. For us, your home is a magical place where we can relax, catch up and enjoy the beautiful setting. We spend hours sitting on the porches, staring at the sea and – when we are lucky – spotting a family of dolphins. The house is a work of art, offering much more in terms of atmosphere and luxury than a typical rental house. I look forward to coming back each year.
Best regards,

This is the only time I’ve ever been to the beach and wanted to stay indoors. “Go pick up shells, dearies, I’ll just stand here and stare at the floors … and the backsplash … and the fireplace surrounds.” The Sandcastle owner is an artist. You’ll encounter her mosaics and charming use of color at every turn. The home is in pristine condition, a short boardwalk away from sand and waves. It has the amenities you expect (a pool, porches, rockers and decks) and some you might not, like a garage-level elevator for luggage. From the moment we stepped inside, our worries lifted. We read. We sunned. We lunched in Charleston. We played cards. We walked on the beach and talked into the night. We felt pampered, happy and very much at home.

Not many things leave me speechless, but the moment I saw the Victorian porches, the eyebrow windows, and colorful turrets, I knew this was a special place. This magnificent beach house is a work of art. The attention to detail is astounding. You will find yourself walking around to explore every nook and cranny. There are custom made stained glass windows, hand-made mosaic tile floors and fireplaces, an elevator, and differently decorated bedrooms that speak to everyone’s needs including fun built-in bunks for the kids. The owner, who is an artist, left no detail unturned. Her own whimsical artwork and intruiging auction house finds are tucked into spaces everywhere. The environment is incredible, but the best part is that it is liveable and relaxing. There are lots of private spaces and porches for alone time. And there are large welcoming tables, soft couches, and a big open kitchen for lots of everyone to enjoy together. The beach and the pool are one step away from the back door and if you can ever peel yourself away from this great house, the city of Charleston is just a short drive

We stayed at this home twice last year. August (our 1st vacation since our 4 year old was born) and Thanksgiving with friends. This house is awesome. Deer run through the backyard at night, Dolphins swim in the ocean during the day. WOW. This may be the nicest house on IOP, on the ocean, with a pool and all the amenities of home! Fabulous. Great restaurants, marinas, babysitters! Thanks Ashley.
